John Gruber and Aurelio Jargas, the respective founders of markdown and txt2tags, have just announced the imminent release of mark2tags, the future of wiki markup.

It will be the next industry standard, with an innovative syntax everyone will agree on.

"mark2tags, the last wiki syntax you'll ever need to learn. Period."

We've had to keep it secret to avoid the competition from stealing that

This prank is cruel on a guy who almost daily
thinks, "Should I use vimwiki? Or asciidoc? No,
I should use txt2tags and then if I need asciidoc
I can convert it. Oh, but I also have pandoc
installed. I should try out rst. Who am I trying
to kid, all I really need is markdown. Oh, but
the ordered lists are actual numbers---I hate
that. But t2t ordered lists need a double space
after them, that's annoying. I could use markdown
syntax with vimwiki...I need to read that
documentation..." &c., &c. My hopes were up. ;)

Oh, and you forgot Org-mode!

http://orgmode.org

I plan to write a txt2tags exporter for Org one day,
so part of your problem might be solved then :)
